Why Christians probably should not celebrate KWANZAA

Why is it that "Us" Christians always feel the need to participate in the things that the world tells us is ok without doing the research for ourselves.  As a child I always wondered what Kwanzaa was and why African-Americans celebrated it.  I knew that I celebrated Christmas as the birth of Jesus Christ: my lord and savior.  And even though we do not know the exact date of Jesus' s birth, for me it is still a day of reflection on God's goodness and mercy.  He is so merciful that he sent his only son to die for us. Matthew 1:22-25. Christmas for me is also a day to spend with family and friends and to be thankful for everything God has blessed me with.........But I never understood Kwanzaa until I did the research myself.
Kwanzaa-
Maulana Karenga of the US Organization created Kwanzaa in 1966 as the first specifically African American holiday. Karenga said his goal was to "give Blacks an alternative to the existing holiday and give Blacks an opportunity to celebrate themselves and history, rather than simply imitate the practice of the dominant society." The name Kwanzaa derives from the Swahili phrase matunda ya kwanza, meaning first fruits of the harvest. The choice of Swahili, an East African language, reflects its status as a symbol of Pan Africanism, especially in the 1960s.
Kwanzaa is a celebration that has its roots in the black nationalist movement of the 1960s, and was established as a means to help African Americans reconnect with their African cultural and historical heritage by uniting in meditation and study of African traditions and Nguzu Saba, the "seven principles of blackness" which Karenga said "is a communitarian African philosophy".
During the early years of Kwanzaa, Karenga said that it was meant to be an alternative to Christmas, that Jesus was psychotic, and that Christianity was a white religion that black people should shun.

The most common statement one will hear about Kwanzaa is that it’s not religious.  But quite the contrary as the creator of Kwanzaa, Maulana Karenga let it be known his true intent of creating this holiday through many of his writings.  An example of such writings is when he made the following statement in his book titled Kawaida Theory explaining a negative of religion:
“It is a simplistic and often erroneous answer to existential ignorance, fear, powerlessness and alienation. An example is the Hebrew myth of the six-day creation and the tower of Babel, or Christian myths of resurrection, heaven and hell.” pg 23.
If Christian beliefs are mythological and not real answers to life, then what was Karenga to do? Create what he believes are true answers to life complete with principles for living – thus the creation of Kwanzaa!  In his attempt in pushing this as a “non-religion,” he in fact was creating a new religion for others to follow!

This is why I will not be celebrating Kwanzaa!!!

Former Gay Hairdresser to the Stars gets SAVED!

Another great testimony! You can easily plant the seed in a non-believer by just telling them about the Gospel and gently reminding them that all they have to do is call on the name of Jesus and accept Him into their heart, even if it doesn't happen until they're at their lowest point just as this fellow brother shares in his personal testimony. It was great to see that his Christian friend never turned her back on him even when he lost touch and hit his lowest point. That's a great reminder for all us as Christians when it comes to helping those we care about, who are non-believers, to find Jesus and become Saved. We can't give up in frustration, imagine if God did that to us??? Please check out the video and as always feel free to share your thoughts! We want to see your comments and know your thoughts (or drop us an email at sellingoutforchrist@gmail.com if you're shy :-) Be Blessed! "For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile - the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for, 'Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.'" ExHomosexual Men Pt3 (I thought I was born gay)

This man's testimony is so powerful and such a blessing! Romans 6:23 For the Wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is Eternal life through Jesus Christ Our Lord

The Music Industy's Occult connections

Why is Jay-Z wearing a shirt quoting Aliester Crowley's teachings, one of the most evil men that has ever lived?  And why is one of the Jonas Bros wearing a shirt with Aliester Crowley on it?  People of God we must be careful what we are listening to and putting in our spirits. Know what you  are listening to..DO THE RESEARCH...the Bible says...
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children. Hosea 4:6

The TD Jakes/Eddie Long "Waiting for my breakthrough Syndrome"

Ok...Why is it that people are so quick to tweet or put in their facebook statuses cliches like "Put God First", "I'm so Blessed" , I know my breakthrough is coming soon" ect., but then the next status or tweet they are cussing or talking bad about people? I just do not understand it. If you are going to say "Put God First" then do just that. Stop putting idols before him. And if you are truly waiting for your breakthrough...then truly live your life according to his word. You can not do the things of the World and expect to be blessed. It makes no sense to call ourselves Christians and party with the world into the weee hours of the morning and then get up and go to church the next morning thinking that this behavior is ok. When I heard this it hit me because this is something I found myself doing. God wants all of you no half of you. Matthew 6:24 says "No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon" It is time to get serious and be on fire for GOD!!

JOEL OSTEEN=SPINELESS?

ok....I have been listening and watching this guy closely as of late and just wanted to point out how disappointed I am. This is supposed to be a man of God. How are you going to let Whoopi Goldberg rebuke you with scripture that you should know yourself. Homosexuality is clearly a sin...Leviticus 18:22 cleary states "Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it [is] abomination"

"I Was a Slave of Drugs and Hated God, Yet He Saved Me" - A Powerful Testimony

This is a wonderful testimony! Please watch and share with others. I love what he says at 22:46 ("the man who got the great job and thinks everything is good in his life but has not Christ, he's committing the greatest sin, he's rejecting the Lord" - please watch the full video so his words aren't taken out of context). If we are honest with ourselves, I think we all can attest to times in our lives and the lives of others where we've totally lost focus on God through Jesus Christ and were so focused on our wordly successes, accomplishments, and desires that through our own actions we were actually rejecting God and his rightful place over our lives. Whether this happened or is happening during a back-slidden phase in our lives or before we even came to know and accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, all the same we were rejecting God and his Word/Ways in our lives......not to mention forfeiting all the amazing blessings, favor, and mercy on our lives granted through His Grace when we do earnestly seek him in Faith. (Related Scriptures - Ephesians 2:8,James 1:17, Galatians 6:8-9, Psalm 40:11, Lamentations 3:25). Let's pass on this testimony video and encourage and pray for eachother's salvation and Christian walk. As always, please feel free to comment and/or send us an email at sellingoutforchrist@gmail. God Bless!
